Connection to Country, Comedy and Commitment

My name is Isaiah Ahsee, and I am a proud Wiradjuri man. I grew up in a little rural country town called Wellington, where I attended the public schools there until the end of year 9. I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship at a private school in Sydney, allowing me to finish my schooling with a whole new perspective of the world.

I currently attend Macquarie University in Sydney and I am completing a Bachelor of Arts of Secondary Education.  After university I am looking to pursue a career in teaching Aboriginal Studies.

Life outside of work and uni includes sports, hanging out with friends and video games. I follow the NBA, the Premier League and the NRL. I support the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, Everton in the Premier League, and Dolphins in the NRL. Humour and comedy give me energy – Kevin Hart would have to be one of the funniest comedians I have seen, and I love the laughs and comedic genius talent that he brings.

My connection to Country is what motivates me in life. Growing up we didn’t have much, but we had enough to survive and get by. With that in my life’s past it motivates me to push for more for not only me but also for family who have helped me throughout my life. This includes most importantly my mum; she is the rock for me and my two younger brothers.

I know my future looks bright.   With me working here at Vivid, gaining key knowledge, and making experiences in the corporate scene, I am hoping to implement what I learn into my teaching.  This experience also allows me to reflect on the positivity I can be for my future students.

My favourite part of being at Vivid would be meeting the wonderful staff we have here. Everyone has been helpful and kind and just allowing me to see what a great office environment looks like.

I am excited to see what the future holds for me here at Vivid and I’m keen to see what opportunities are here for me.
