Vivid Care Packs

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

As part of our Innovate RAP Vivid is committed to creating authentic partnerships and relationships to address the social and economic inequality that is experienced by Australia’s First Peoples in the spirit of reconciliation.    We are proud to announce our newly formed partnership with Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL).

For almost 50 years, AHL has provided safe, culturally appropriate and affordable accommodation for First Nations People who are travelling, relocating or who need to be away from home to access services and economic opportunities. AHL has a variety of hostels across Australia, including multipurpose hostels, which provide a place to stay for First Nations People including individuals, couples and families.

A large percentage of AHL’s residents are escaping a variety of difficult situations, such as poverty, homelessness and domestic violence or experience mental illness or unemployment. Many do not have access to basic toiletries such as a toothbrush, deodorant and soap. Families arrive without nappies or formula and women don’t always have access to sanitary products.

Sharing in the AHL values of respect, understanding and dignity, Vivid is now collecting toiletry product donations to assist AHL’s residents. Whether it be to access employment opportunities, professional support services or mental health counselling, Vivid aims to help set up First Nations People for success from when they first arrive at AHL.
